Honolulu, Hawaii — Leahi Hospital has received the Achievement of Excellence in Healthcare Quality Award, presented by Mountain-Pacific Quality Health.
With this award, the Diamond Head-Kaimuki nursing home has been recognized for improving the quality of health care given to its residents (long-term care patients) during a three-year assessment period. The award recognizes Leahi Hospital for being actively engaged in improving care in the following areas:
- Low Physical Restraint
- Low Pressure Ulcer Rates
Leahi Hospital staff was also recognized for clearly demonstrating a collaborative approach when responding to the needs of the residents including: implementation of evidence-based best practices; team-building activities; and improvement of internal communications.
“Leahi Hospital’s leadership and staff embodied the values that are critical for excellence in health care quality,” said Dee Dee Nelson, MS, Mountain-Pacific director. “These values include a commitment to patient-centered, reliable, and safe care for residents.”
