Statement on Governor’s Release of $1.3 Million for Leahi Hospital and Maluhia

Honolulu, Hawaii — On August 10, 2012, Governor Neil Abercrombie announced the release of more than $1.3 million for Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) for the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation Oahu Region:

  • $502,000 for replacement of the electrical vault at Maluhia
  • $34,000 for replacement of a heat pump at Maluhia
  • $400,000 for the conversion of unused laboratories to information technology and fiscal services at Leahi Hospital

“Leahi Hospital and Maluhia play integral roles in the health and well-being of our long-term care residents and outpatients,” said Vincent Lee, HHSC Oahu Region chief executive officer. “We are grateful to the Abercrombie administration and state lawmakers for their continued support in assisting us to respond effectively to the long-term care needs of our communities.”
